The hat arrived today (fast shipping!) and I am very happy with it. Like a couple of other people mentioned, I was looking for something similar to the Stetson Open Road style hat without but without the 300 dollar price tag. This hat looks great and is well made. It does run a tad big but I added some hat reducers on the inside under the band and now it fits nicely. Looks sharp. Distressed, but not overly done. Very pleased. Would purchase again. *Feather not included*
Hat was cool and well made, would have loved it but didn't fit my face and head right. Might need a big beard to offset my bowlingball head shape. Wanted to love this style.
I’m a hat person. I love western-style hats, but not goofy modern cowboy hats as most people know them. This hat is like a traditional western hat with a vintage feel. I am not kidding when I say I have worn it almost everyday since I got it a year and a half ago. Took me 3 tries to figure out which size fits best, but the third time was an actual charm. Plus, I get compliments on it all of the time.

Amazing hat with denim trim compliments everything bluejean….overall gray with a vintage brown ribbon and black leather cord ….the colors in this hat are dark and rich and have a aged vibe. I am wearing it every where !!!!!

Have to admit I was skeptical about ordering online and what I'd receive, but I'm definitely impressed and a happy customer! Hat was double boxed, with durable fitted hat box inside shipping box to avoid any damage. Was a tad big, but that was easily fixed with the included adjusters for a comfortable fit. I reshaped the slightly rolled brim to a flat brim and added a horse hair hatband to make it unique to me and it turned out great! Wife loves it and so do I...thanks Ruediger!
I read some of the reviews and was very hesitant in purchasing this hat. As far as, shipping the hat, I couldn't ask for any better boxing. The Amazon box was perfect. The original box the hat was in was perfect, also. The hat itself was more than perfect. Like some of the reviews I read, learn how to steam a felt hat. And, this hat is stiff. So, use a lot of steam. I love it.

First off, **THESE HATS RUN LARGE** so whatever size you think you are, get the 2 sizes down. I wear a 7-3/8 verging on a 7-1/2 (aka Large), so that's what I ordered. It turns out that the company actually sizes these hats as S, M, L so the measurements you select from on the Amazon page are pretty much meaningless. The 7-3/8 hat I got was entirely too large (marked Size L, actual size more like XL) and I ended up having to return it. I was pretty impressed by the hat's overall quality so I took a chance and ordered a size 7-1/8, which would be far too small for me in real life. The hat that arrived has a tag showing "Size M" but it's a lot closer to a Large so it ended up fitting perfectly.
As others have noted, the hat is very stiff but for me that's a selling point as I don't want the brim to droop. The 2nd hat I got fit a little tight, but I boiled some water in a kettle and used the steam to shape it to fit my head perfectly (if you do this remember to take the hat bands off or there could be some color transfer). I also used the steam to re-shape the crease a little bit to give it less of a Fedora feel and more of a Western style.
Be aware the hat band is stitched on so you'll need to cut a couple of threads if you want to replace it. The dark color on the brim is also painted on, not a stitched on ribbon which would be a little more traditional, but I actually like the look of it.
If it sounds like I'm only hitting negatives I assure you I'm not- GET THIS HAT. The brim is wide and strong, the felt is very responsive to just a little bit of steaming, and overall this is an outstanding base if you're looking for a hat to truly make your own.
The lining is top-notch (I have no idea why they don't do a better job of showing that detail in the pictures) and the brim is fairly wide, so be ready and willing to rock that. I usually shy away from wool felt but I really feel like this hat is worth the money. All around good purchase, and I'll probably get one in another color soon.

This hat is a work of art, it is not some basic hat, it is a flashy statement that demands attention and I think it deserves the attention. First off, it came wonderfully packaged so no risk of it getting smashed (I have had hats meet pretty sad ends thanks to bad boxing) even the feather was in its own little bag so that it would be protected. I bought it for my husband and it fits his head perfectly, I am only a little jealous since I want it, but my head is small so it will just be his hat and it looks awesome on him! I love all the detailing, the felt looks like aged leather, it has a random lightning bolt and other little details that take it from being just a hat to something special.
It is beautifully made, I really cannot say that enough, this is the fanciest of hats and I am so glad I got it for my husband!

I’m thinking about getting some more because when I say I slayed the house down, hunty!!! I’m not used to paying this much for a hat, but I can see why it was priced the way it was. Fashionable!! It’s an investment piece and will last a lifetime if maintained well. The packaging it came with I still keep it in.
The Hat is well constructed and the leather on the inside feels great. It had a little bend on the brim but nothing that can't be fixed with an iron. Flattened and perfect in a minute. Definitely worth the price. It's a little more expensive but you literally are getting what you pay for. I wish they had more solid colors. This is a hard hat and it feels great.
Awesome Open Road clone for less than1/2 the price of the Stetson original. Solid, durable hat, that should have a long life-span. If you're looking for soft, felt type material this is not for you. Comfortable fit. As mentioned elsewhere, they do run a slightly large. The included spacers more than make up for it. Very pleased.
